I like daily stuff. There’s a certain rhythm that we get into when opening a daily newsletter, or a verse of the day—anything that helps us set the tone.
My goal here is to share my personal Lectio Divina practice each day. The hope is that I can capture what the Spirit is speaking to me, and leading me into each day.
I don’t usually recommend Wikipedia, but they have a good primer on what Lectio Divina is all about.
As I begin releasing more of these daily meditations, I’ll break them down into the four movements of Lectio Divina.
I’m short on time today, so here’s the first one.
Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 34:16
I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.
I usually listen to Spotify as a part of my daily practice. Today, this song came on. And, at the same time, I opened to a passage in one of my favorite books, The Orthodox Way.
About a month ago, I had this cool experience where I was reading the words in that book, “you are not alone” at the exact same time the song said the same thing.
Some people might call this a “synchronicity” or something similar, I’d like to think of this as the Spirit leading me.
Regardless, I thought I’d share this.
My hope for you today is that you’re moved by the Spirit in some extraordinary way! My prayer is that you experience something of God’s love connecting the various aspects of your life in unexpected ways.
Blessings.
